June 16
When we were 21 and 22, we were both in college. We would spend our Saturdays at U of I waking up around 12, eating a hangover breakfast, watching a few stupid movies, taking a little nap, have a unhealthy dinner and then started drinking again around 9 (It's no wonder we were about 25lbs overweight). I would always hate leaving on Sunday nights to go back to ISU. I ALWAYS felt like crying when I had to go back, and Tony could always tell too. I always hoped to be able to always be with Tony and have our life together. Well...here we are...my Dream! (Yes, it is 8:51 and Tony is already falling asleep on the couch...dreamy!)
When reading these blog posts, I feel that I am complaining a lot! Honestly, I am very happy! This is what I always dreamed of when I had to take my 50 minute drive back to ISU on Sundays;a house in Elgin, a dog and a family. Yes, this particular situation is difficult at the moment, it is what we knew we were going to have. My husband, my baby, our puppy, bills to pay, work to go to; these are all thing that many people have lost, can't have or no longer have. So each night, I do thank God for these things in my life (even though they are sometimes hard).
OK, enough of the melodramatic...Today was an exciting day! Reagan got her first haircut! Of course, Tony and her came into the salon. She really did not need a lot cut off, but it was starting to get a bit scraggly and we needed it pretty for Steph's wedding in a few weeks. It was so nice to have my friend Bonnie cut it for her and also have friends around for the big event! (Of course, Tony hates coming into the Salon because of all of the woman).
When we got home, we went for a little family walk before dinner and then ordered Pizza from Georgios for Father's Day. (Reagan really liked the pizza...she is from Chicago after all.) We then went to the park in Hoffman Estates. We were driving up and I told Tony "This is Soopie's pond!" In High School, we use to go behind our friend Soopie's house where he had a big pond pretty deep into the forest and we would hang out and "sometimes" shoot fireworks and really not get into too much trouble (No really, trouble started in College). It was kind of strange being at the "hidden" pond in the forest, it use to be like a little secret getaway, but now was full of suburban families feeding the fish and Disc Golf players. (I think this little trip to the park, made us both feel very old "When we were growing up...".)
Tomorrow is Father's Day. All I got Tony was some clothes from JCP. He really needed some; he is the type of guy that honestly has some of his same clothes since high school. He was kind of disappointed that there was no surprise (for Mother's Day, he got me Reagan's pictures taken and got it framed, very sweet). However, I am going to wake up with Molly and Reagan, take them both for a walk, and then make him bacon (honestly, that is a surprise, I NEVER make bacon.)
