2 weeks of 'NO"- Final Entry

I think we have officially entered the "Terrible 2's", and 3.5 months ahead of schedule...she must be gifted! I swear after hearing the work NO for about the twentieth time today, I kind of felt like a failure in life.
"Do you want to go outside and play?"
               "NO!"
"Do you want to go to the library?"
               "NO!"
"Can you give Mommy a kiss?
               "NO!"
"Do you want a new pony?"
               "NO!"
"Do you want cake for dinner?"
               "NO!"
Am I really letting a 20 month old get the best of me? Thank goodness Molly is a sweet bundle of kisses and would snuggle up to me even if I yelled at her!

I don't mean to complain, because I am extremely lucky to be able to be home for two weeks during the Holidays, but from her being sick, to this wonderful new personality that she has, it has been anything but relaxing! It is down right exhausting! Of course, I will always love her, but it will be nice to go back to work and talk to adults, and yes... even Fourth graders, who I can at least reason with!
Reagan is obsessed with her fish, Wyatt...from Super Why!

Here are a few fabulous examples of the ridiculousness that has been going on over the past 2 weeks. My favorite personality trait of hers is that this child wants nothing to do with any foods besides strawberries, bananas  tomatoes, and applesauce. (I know...these are all healthy right?  But not if that is ALL that she wants to eat!) (Tony and I are extremely surprised by this, since it seems to appear that Tony and I have NEVER turned away food!) To attempt to get the balance that my "growing" girl needs; I have put oatmeal into her smoothie, dipped hot dog in cheese sauce (not healthy) and the grand finale was me earning the Oscar, for how wonderful the Target Mac and Cheese was by laying it on pretty thick!
"Oh my gosh Reagan this is so yummy! YUMMMMMM!!!"
"You should try some, it's delicious!!!!
        "Once it hits your lips!!!"
"Wow! We should let Molly try some! Yummmmm!!!"
Thankfully, she is not that bright yet, so these tricks have worked pretty well! However, she is getting smarter by the day!

Another bright point in our Holidays has been potty training! Now she is only about 20 months, so we are not getting too excited and not forcing it on her. However, it has been a constant game of her saying "poop" and us running to the bathroom to either sit there with her while she reads, or of her actually going! Tony and I have kind of got it down to a science now...which I assume that most people that have gone through this knows that it is a delicate balance of how much time has passed and the frequency of her farts! (GROSS...I know!) My honest opinion is that she thinks of it as a game, but if it is one less dirty diaper...so be it.

Sorry Reagan...It is too cute not to include!

Probably the most exciting event of the Hernandez house has been the fact that Molly is cured! The doctor has put her on incognitience medicine and we have not seen any drips in 30 days. The doctor does want us to stop the medicine for a few days to see if we see any dripping. As of Day 1 we have not seen anything, so we will continue to wait and see. We are so thankful that we are even letting her lay on the couch, and she is even allowed to jump into our bed in the mornings! She is such a good puppy and we are so thankful that this has all worked out!
Molly keeping my spot warm...right...

With all of my Reagan bashing, I must say that there have been some adorable acts that she has been doing! For Christmas, she got some dishes for her kitchen and has been setting the table, stirring the contents in the pots and pans, and serving Tony and I some fabulous "air" treats. She has also had a special interest in her baby dolls. She pushes them in the stroller, feeds them in their highchair and even makes sure to tell Molly "Shhhhh!" when they are put to sleep at night. Part of me think that these acts are adorable and endearing; part of me thinks that these acts of domesticity must stop! Maybe we need to buy her a Doctors Kit or Cash Register to encourage some more scholarly professions.

Domestic Goddess

Reagan and her Cousins over Christmas Break

Since I am no longer in the Summer and I am currently an owner of two Toddlers instead of Babies, I have sadly decided that this will be my last entry. The Hernandez family and myself, already have a busy 2013 ahead of us. Tony and I are excited to be attending two close friends Weddings in February.  Reagan (and us) are expecting two new cousins by years end. I plan to run a 10k in Santa Cruz, CA with my sister in April. The Santa Cruz run is the precursor to the 10 mile Fox Trot on Memorial Day weekend (An accomplishment that I have wanted to do since, I starting running for "sport".)  Over the summer, we are wanting to take a short family vacation, as we will be very busy with wedding events for Casey and Joel. We are very excited for Casey's wedding on Labor Day weekend, followed by our "plan" of starting on Baby Number 2... which Tony claims to "already be in the bag", after all...he is half Mexican!

Thank you to all that have read my rantings, have offered support, have shared similar stories, simply made fun of my need to write every possible thought that I have had over the past 6 months, or tuned in to make fun of my grammar mistakes! Thank you to Tony (who wisely never read one word), Reagan and Molly for their ever changing antics and material! I love you more than you can even know!
